An artist's popularity score is calculated from the number of plays, views, fans, comments and other metrics accross their profiles in key properties like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm and more.

We periodically gather data for every GigMaven artist. We then work some statistical magic and come up with a score of 1 to 100 for each of them.
