Rooms for Tunes: The GEM Hotel Brand Auditions Local Musicians & Trades Hotel Stays for Sounds
Selected Albums Will Play at The GEM Hotels’ Chelsea, Midtown West & SoHo Locations
Backing its brand philosophy to reflect the individuality of the surrounding neighborhood, The GEM Hotel collection, a growing group of boutique properties in Manhattan, is auditioning local musicians for the sounds of its lobbies with its “Rooms for Tunes†program. There is an open casting call for talented bands and solo artists who live or regularly perform in Chelsea, Midtown and SoHo, where The GEM Hotels are located, to bring forward their CDs in exchange for a free room night and their music featured in one of the hotels.*
Participants can leave CDs in the lobby at any GEM Hotel for judging through May 31, 2009. There is no limit to the number of winners, as tunes of the selected entries will rotate on the hotels’ playlists. All winners will be notified by June 22, 2009.
“Rooms for Tunes†reflects the mission of The GEM Hotel, which looks to impact and support the nearby community by recommending local venues. The brand provides genuine service at a great value, featuring a wide array of complimentary amenities and services, including nightly turndown, high-speed Internet access, iPod docking stations, Gilchrist & Soames bath amenities, concierge services and more.
