The J Directorate

The J Directorate is a group of musicians in New York City; though they never knew each other until they moved out to the Big Apple, it turns out they all grew up in the same small patch of desert in Washington state. Fate!

Their music can best be described as "eclectic" - they jump from blues to punk, from gospel to folk, and from pop to solemn classical guitar, all in the same album. Anchored by the powerful, soulful vocals of Jillian Haynal, guitarist/synthesist Jesse Jensen pushes his instruments in different directions, always looking for a new hook to insert into a genre.

They're in the midst of playing shows across NYC and recording their second EP, which promises to showcase an even wider variety of musical influences.
